Dryer runs but won't heat

Safe things you can check:

• Clean the lint filter every load, and check the vent hose and the flap outside your home for lint clogs.
• On an electric dryer, check BOTH breaker switches — a double-pole breaker can trip on one side, so the drum still turns but there's no heat.
• On a gas dryer, make sure the gas supply valve is on.

When to call us: A clean, powered dryer with no heat usually needs a heating element, thermal fuse, igniter, or gas valve — that's our job.

Takes too long / clothes still damp

Safe things you can check:

• Don't overload — big loads can't tumble and dry properly.
• Clean the lint filter and confirm the exterior vent flap actually opens when running (weak airflow = long dry times).
• Clear any lint buildup in the vent duct — this is also the #1 dryer fire cause.

When to call us: If airflow is good but drying is still slow, a moisture sensor or blower issue may be to blame.

Dryer won't start at all

Safe things you can check:

• Make sure the door is fully closed — the door switch must engage.
• Confirm power at the outlet and breaker.
• Check that the start button is pressed firmly and no child-lock is set.

When to call us: A dead dryer with confirmed power often needs a thermal fuse, door switch, or start switch.

Loud thumping or squealing

Safe things you can check:

• Check the drum for coins or debris caught in the seam.
• Make sure the dryer is level.

When to call us: Squealing or grinding usually means worn drum rollers, a belt, or idler pulley — we can replace those.
