Washer won't drain
Safe things you can check:
- Check the drain hose behind the machine for kinks, and that it isn't pushed too far down the standpipe.
- On a front-loader, clean the drain-pump filter (a small access door at the bottom front) — keep a towel handy, water will spill out.
- Make sure the standpipe or drain itself isn't clogged.
When to call us: If it still holds water, the drain pump has likely failed — we can replace it.
Washer won't spin
Safe things you can check:
- Redistribute the load — a bulky or unbalanced load will stop the spin; avoid overloading.
- Make sure the lid is closing fully (top-loaders) or the door latch clicks (front-loaders).
- Check that the machine is level and not rocking.
When to call us: If a balanced load still won't spin, the drive belt, motor, or lid switch/door latch may need service.
Washer leaking water
Safe things you can check:
- Use only HE detergent in an HE machine, and less than you think — excess suds is a common “leak.”
- Check the fill-hose connections at the wall and back of the machine for drips.
- On front-loaders, wipe the rubber door gasket and check its fold for trapped coins, socks, or debris.
When to call us: Leaks from underneath the machine (internal seals, tub, or pump) need a technician.
Washer smells musty or won't start
Safe things you can check:
- Run a hot “clean washer” cycle (or hot cycle with washer cleaner) and leave the door ajar between loads to dry out.
- For a no-start, confirm power, that the door/lid is fully latched, and that a child-lock or delay-start isn't on.
When to call us: If it's dead with power confirmed, the control board or door lock may be at fault.
